What a week

Its been my SNR (short notice relief) week and what a week!!

Well, it started with nerves, waiting for the bleep to go off, or the phone to ring (when it worked, kinda stopped working after dropping it in a glass of water), then after Monday to Wednesday with nothing I started to realise that even if I was in for the rest of the week, I'd have done well. Probably wasted those days - but was nervous that I may get a call at any time. Went to the cinema on Wednesday to watch inglourious basterds, (I know we're a little behind) I really enjoyed it - I know it was a little gruesome but I like Quentin Tarantino films.
Was finally called in on Thursday for a 14 hour shift then an 8 hour shift on Friday.

Friday night was spent at the live rugby again - this time Waikato v Wellington (we live in Waikato and are quickly becoming fans) cant believe you can get in for $13 (£6) and even better deal if you can get a BOGOF deal (as we did). After the rugby we headed into town for some food and drinks - had a lovely meal, then decided it was a good idea to go bowling. I scored 144, then 117 which I think are easily by best scores ever. I was on fire, after a few drinks it was time for home.


On Saturday I woke up with a good hangover (so so, glad that I wasn't called in at 7.30!), and after talking to my favorite hockey friends on skype I headed out to the shops. We bought a nice big LCD TV for the flat and a microwave (very interesting I know). That night we went out to the pub to watch the All blacks v Wallabies, final Tri-nations match (after already knowing that the Springboks have won) then back to ours for take-away and Wii (can't believe Zoe had never played!!)

Sunday.....again, no phone call. Headed out to Raglan for a day of sun sea and surf. Hired a wetsuit and a board and hit the surf. Bumped into 7 of our friends there and had an amazing day, topped off by fresh fish and chips.....perfect.

Absolutely knackered now and gonna watch a film before bed.

Either more surfing or a trip to Auckland next weekend....which one, hmm???
