Better late than never

So, I've arrived in NZ. I'm now on day 3 here and still suffering the jet lag.

On arrival we were met at the airport by Marc, who along with his wife Lois have been amazing hosts looking after us for the past few days. He attempted to keep us awake the afternoon of our arrival by taking us for lunch and then for a short walk to the nearby gannet colony. Scenery is amazing, they live about half an hour out of Auckland and its beautiful and quite rural here.
Since staying with them they have been kind enough to lend us a car and we successfully negotiated our way into Auckland for a days shopping and sightseeing. Showed Si where I stayed back in 2005 went to the museum for a bit of culture and then checked out the shops. Went for an amazing dinner on the viaduct (Auckland harbour) then out for a few drinks. Woke up this morning feeling a little ropey but needed to head over for our New Zealand medical council interview....luckily it appears that they are happy for me to practice here. Then headed out for a nice coastal walk. (the pictures are from that walk)

Next, we are planning on heading down to Hamilton to get ourselves settled in. Hopefully that'll be tomorrow but it depends if we can get a rental car on a Sunday. Our shipment is due to arrive next week so it won't be long till we're back in Auckland.
